Bailey beam has two specifications: imported and domestic. The truss of domestic Bailey beam is made of 16 manganese steel, the pin is made of chromium manganese titanium steel, the bolt is made of spring steel, the welding rod is made of t505x type, and the bridge deck and wheel guard wood are made of pine or fir. The allowable stress of the material shall be increased by 30% according to the basic stress. When individual steel members exceed the above provisions, they shall not exceed 85% of their yield point.
The allowable stress used in the design is as follows: the bending stress, compressive stress and bearing stress of wood grain are 16.2mpa; The shearing stress along wood grain is 2.7 MPa in bending. Elastic modulus E = 98.5 × 105mpa.Steel material - tensile stress, compressive stress and bending stress of 16 manganese steel are 1.3 × 210=273mpa; The shear stress is 1.3 × 160=208mpa. The tensile stress, compressive stress and bending stress of 30 Cr Mn Ti are 0.85 × 1300=1105mpa; The shear stress is 0.45 × 1300=585mpa. The existing imported Bailey beams are mostly products of 1940s, with the yield point strength of 351mpa and the allowable stress of 0.7 × 351 = 245MPa, the allowable stress of pin can be considered to be the same as that of domestic pin.
