Talk about the knowledge of bridge deck structure
Orthotropic steel deck is a structure which is composed of vertical and horizontal stiffeners (longitudinal and transverse ribs) and deck roof to bear the wheel load. This bridge deck structure was first used in Germany in the 1950s, and then widely used in other countries. At present, it has become a common bridge deck structure form of large and medium-span modern steel bridges in the world. Orthotropic steel deck has the characteristics of low height, light weight, large ultimate bearing capacity and easy processing and manufacturing. It can replace the commonly used concrete deck and has been widely used in highway steel bridges such as beam bridges, arch bridges, cable-stayed bridges and suspension bridges.
Because the internal force analysis of orthotropic steel bridge deck is complex and the manufacturing and construction requirements are high, at the same time, the structural forms of vertical and horizontal stiffeners and transverse ribs or diaphragms will affect the mechanical characteristics of steel bridge deck. In addition, there is no unified design code at present. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a detailed mechanical analysis of orthotropic steel bridge deck to avoid unnecessary waste in the design. The orthogonal special-shaped steel bridge deck can generally be divided into three basic stress systems: the bridge deck bears the vehicle operation load as a part of the main beam section (the first basic system); The bridge deck structure is composed of bridge deck and longitudinal and transverse stiffeners to bear the wheel load of the bridge deck (the second basic system); The steel bridge deck supported on the vertical and horizontal stiffeners directly bears the local load of the wheel (the third basic system). The simplified calculation method is to calculate three basic systems respectively, then superimpose the stress, and finally obtain the combined stress.
